THE ALPHA PHI FOUNDATION
The Eta Sigma Chapter raises money for the Alpha Phi Foundation. Alpha Phi’s philanthropic focus is women’s heart health and cardiac care. In 1956, Alpha Phi was one of the first women’s fraternities to establish a Foundation, and to this day Alpha Phi awards numerous grants for scholarship and cardiac aid. Eta Sigma holds many events throughout the year including Red Dress Gala, Heart Health Week, and Alpha Phifa to fund research and education programs that support heart health.
PHILATHROPY EVENTS
RED DRESS GALA
The Red Dress Gala is one of our fall philanthropy events where Alpha Phi sisters and families are invited to join us at a local venue for food, entertainment, basket auctions, and much more. Prior to Red Dress Gala, we also hold “Restaurant Week” where local Easton restaurants donate proceeds to the Alpha Phi Foundation if Alpha Phi is mentioned with an order. RDG raises money and awareness for women’s heart health and is a great opportunity for sisters to introduce their loved ones to our organization and show how much our philanthropy efforts mean to us.
HEART HEALTHY WEEK
Heart Healthy Week is a week of various philanthropy events including CPR certification, cookie decorating, card writing to St. Luke’s Patients, a spinning event, and a knockout tournament to raise awareness and money for the Alpha Phi Foundation.
ALPHA PHIFA
Every spring, the sisters of Eta Sigma host our Alpha Phi co-ed soccer tournament. Teams sign up to compete in a bracket-style tournament for some friendly competition and bonding. All entry fees benefit women’s heart health and the Alpha Phi Foundation.
